I want the right level of privacy.
Our privacy glass includes patterned, obscured, tinted and reflective, you can even digitally print a pattern of your choice on our glass.
You can combine these glass types with the right Low E - keeping your home warmer in winter, and cooler in summer without sacrificing privacy.
How does this work?
Patterned and obscured glass diffuses light to reduce visibility through the glass while still allowing light to enter your home.
Tinted glass works by reducing the amount of visible light both in and out of your home.
Reflective glass, typically seen in office buildings, provides a mirror effect during the day. This reduces visibility from outside during the day. However at night when you have the lights on others can see into your home giving you no privacy.
Enhanced safety and security.
Our strict safety and quality standards mean our glass meets the latest New Zealand building code requirements.
What are the different types of glass and which ones are safety glass?
Annealed glass (common in single glazing) tends to break into longer, jagged shards which can cause significant injury. This is not safety glass.
There are two main options for safety glass - toughened and laminated glass:
Toughened glass has undergone heat treatment which makes it ideal for safety, strength and temperature resistance. If it breaks it will break into small pieces, which reduces the risk of injury.
Laminated glass incorporates an interlayer between two pieces of glass. It is much more difficult to break and if it does break the interlayer holds the glass fragments together. Laminated glass is an option for areas close to doors or latches to reduce the chance of burglars breaking the glass and entering your home.
You can get venting handles which will allow you to open your window and let air flow circulate while still restricting your window opening. We also provide restrictor/safety stays options for added safety i.e.: the stays will reduce the opening of your window protecting your child from falling out of it.
If you want to prevent theft or break-ins, the best defence is to ensure all windows and doors are closed and locked when you are not home.
